Energy Soup: My husband Duke was recently at Ann Wigmore Institute where he ate energy soup for every meal; he also had a lot of fresh wheat grass and swam every day in the Atlantic, but that’s another story.
You can simplify this recipe if you like, but don’t forget the dulse and nori for the iodine. Eating fresh, raw veggies that have been blended are a great answer to “what ails you.” Using all organic ingredients will make it soooo much better! - Put the following ingredients in a Vita Mix or good blender and puree until creamy:
- 1/2 cup flax or cold pressed olive oil
- 1 cup rejuvelac (fermented seeds) or pure, filtered water
- Handful of Dulse sea vegetables or dulse flakes and/or
- A bit of other seaweed
- 1-2 medium tomatoes quartered
- 1 1/2 cups organic spinach leaves
- 2 stalks celery
- 1 medium peeled cucumber
- 1 cup fresh basil or cilantro (or a mix of both)
- ½ cup raw chia or hemp seeds
- 1 tsp sea salt or Himalayan salt
- ½ hot chili pepper or cayenne powder to taste (optional)
Other Possible Ingredients:
- 2-4 cloves garlic
- ¼ cup soaked sun-dried tomatoes
- 1 green onion
- 1 red, yellow or orange pepper cored & peeled
- 1 cored apple
- 1 tsp Spirulina powder
- 1/2 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
Pour in bowl and serve with some of your favorite toppings:
- Avocada
- Spirulina powder
- Dulse granules
- Chopped tomato
- Chopped basil
- Chopped parsley
- Minced onion
- Chives/Green onion
- Chopped organic apple
- Fresh papaya
You can make the soup and eat it several times each day; this will give you so much energy that you will forget your tired ness in a few weeks. That’s why they call it ENERGY soup.
